Five protestors who lay under a digger in Harefield to oppose High Speed 2 have been removed this evening.

Motorists travelling between Harefield and Ickenham have been warned of disruption and possible delays in coming weeks as engineers from High Speed 2 carry out work before construction begins.

Officials from HS2 will be in Ickenham this week, giving residents a chance to ask questions about how the construction will affect the surrounding area.

Fears have been raised over the impact of proposed traffic lights at Swakeleys roundabout and construction sites elsewhere in Ickenham, ahead of a public meeting about High Speed 2 tomorrow.

A tunnel which would ensure High Speed 2 is buried for the whole of the route through Hillingdon is back on the table, The Transport Secretary has indicated this afternoon.

Campaigners against High Speed 2 hope to hear from the man who could replace Boris Johnson as London Mayor when he visits Ickenham tomorrow.

Boris Johnson has blasted HS2 bosses for failing to come up with 'credible' plans to deal with the spoil from the tunnel at Ickenham and claims they have created a “great deal of confusion”.
