A decision on plans for a Costa coffee in Ickenham has been put on ice for a month.
The planning application has been referred by officers for councillors to decide.
A decision had been due at the beginning of this month.

Hillingdon Council today told Hillingdon Is Here that the proposal to replace the old Lloyds bank in Swakeleys Road is going to be heard at a planning meeting in about 5 weeks.
Hillingdon Is Here poll has shown readers are so far split over the application. About 49% said they were in favour and 45% were against. The poll, below, is still open to voting.
In a statement, Hillingdon Council said: "Following a public consultation with local residents, the planning application for a Costa Coffee in Ickenham high street will be referred to Hillingdon Council's North Planning Committee. The application is likely to be discussed at a meeting on Wednesday 23 August, in which the committee will carefully consider any views submitted by residents."

Costa previously told Hillingdon is Here it is 'evaluating opportunities in Ickenham'.

The coffee giant recently lodged proposals to set up a shop at 35 Swakeleys Road, along Ickenham's main parade. This unit was previously occupied by Lloyds bank but has been left vacant for some while. You can see how it used to look three years ago in the Google Street View image below.

Hillingdon Council has said it will make a decision on whether to give the green light to Costa by 6 July – under two weeks from today.

The application is for a change of use from class A2 (Bank) to A1/A3 (shops/restaurants/cafes) - with external alterations. The image below shows a design submitted as part of the planning process.

Despite the publicly available plans being shown on the council's planning portal, the company merely stated that “we are currently evaluating opportunities in the Ickenham area, but have no firm plans in place at this stage” when approached by Hillingdon is Here.

The company added in a brief statement: “As the UK's favourite coffee shop brand and one of the success stories on the UK high street, we work closely with planning departments across the country to open new stores for the benefit of their local communities, creating new jobs and providing attractive and popular social meeting places.”
