A Hillingdon resident has reached the final of a national beauty pageant and could be travelling to America if she succeeds in the next round.

Meenu Jain, a business analyst, will vie for the Mrs Galaxy UK crown on March 22. The winner will travel to the USA with contestants from all over the world, to compete in the Mrs Galaxy International final this summer.

She recently won the title of Mrs West London Galaxy 2017/18.

Mrs Jain, an investment banking IT consultant and a mum, lives with husband Abhijit, 37, and her 3-year-old son in Hillingdon.

She said: “I am so excited to have been given this opportunity of representing West London in the final, it is a great achievement and I cannot wait to meet all of the other wonderful women.

“I had dedicated my life so far to my education, work and family. This platform gave me an opportunity to pursue a passion irrespective of age or looks.

“This pageant is not just about glamour queens but has a lot to do with fundraising and charity events.”

She is currently raising money for The Christie, a specialist cancer care charity.

Mrs Jain said: "The best part of this pageant is it expects you to be yourself and focuses on personality rather than just looks."

She said the prospect of reaching the global final is even more exciting.

She said: “The international final is a once in a lifetime opportunity and will be a truly amazing experience.

“The UK has enjoyed some amazing success at the Galaxy International Pageant with them winning an international crown 8 times and had placements in every division for the past 4 years.”

The national final is being held in March 2018 at Park Hall Hotel, Lancashire.
